Yet, despite everyone aiming to be "different" and "unique," there is always a handful of items we end up seeing over and over again (think Fendi's furry friends and Gucci slip-on loafers), immediately becoming the must-have pieces of the moment. With Fashion Month officially in full force, we're casting our predictions for the statement-making goods we're bound to see on the the streets of New York, London, Milan, and Paris.
Click on to see (and shop) our picks — and keep an eye on our street style coverage to see exactly what makes the cut.

The Tinted Aviator Shades
Showgoers will need some shades to protect their eyes from New York City's brutal winter winds. The style of choice? Likely a pair of tinted aviators that give every outfit a dose of '70s swagger.
Acne Studios Spitfire Large Gold/Yellow, $400, available at Acne Studios.

The Beret
We're calling it now — street style stars will be swapping their beanies and wide-brim hats for berets. They'll keep your head warm and give you that certain je ne sais quoi.
Gucci Wool Beret, $295, available at Saks Fifth Avenue.

The Fur-Lined Loafers
Sorry, but Gucci's fur loafers aren't going anywhere — if anything, they've just gotten that much more popular. Whether they really keep their wearer's feet warm, though, is still up for debate.
Gucci Princetown Leather Slipper, $995, available at Gucci.

The Extra-Long-Sleeved Blouse
Since it's so chilly out, super-long sleeves peeking out from underneath heavy sweaters and statement coats give your look a runway-approved flair.
Front Row Shop Sky Blue Flare Sleeve Shirt with Cuff Slit, $47 $39.95, available at Front Row Shop.

The Redone Levi's
Want to look street style worthy without looking like you tried too hard? A well-fitting pair of Levi's will do just the trick. Seriously, what other pants are this practical?
Re/Done The Elsa, $297, available at Re/Done.

The Circle Hairclip
It's all in the details this season with this minimalist hair accessory. If you're sick of your same old pony or half-bun, this is the perfect way to spice things up without getting too loud.
ASOS Orelia Open Circle Hair Clip, $9, available at ASOS.

The Designer Hoodie
Whether you like it or not, the overpriced hoodie has become a highly coveted item among the fashion set. A variation of this $700 option has already been spotted on The Cut's Stella Bugbee.
Vetements Green Biker Hoodie, $735, available at Totokaelo.

The Bright Bootie
Not any winter boot will cut it this season. We're betting everyone will opt for a walkable and colorful Mod ankle bootie (likely with cropped jeans or culottes).
DORATEYMUR Sybil Suede Boots, $564, available at Browns.

The Must-Have Choker
Chokers and skinny scarves are the new statement necklace. If you really want the It piece, though, go the Fallon Jewelry route, à la WeWoreWhat.
Fallon Jewelry Dottie Silk Mesh Choker, $110, available at Fallon Jewelry.

The Not-So-Middle-School Backpack
This bag made the cut for what we're betting on as one of the top It bags of this year, so it's bound to pop up nonstop during Fashion Month. As for who's already wearing it? Blogger Olivia Lopez of Lust For Life.
Acne Studios Rope Backpack in Jungle Blue, $1,600, available at Acne Studios.

The Vans Sneaker
It seems as though Vans' classic black-and-white sneakers became an overnight sensation. They're not a new style, but they are practical, which is something we can definitely get behind.
Vans Sk8-Hi, $60, available at Vans.

The Colorful Faux-Fur Coat
The easiest, most foolproof way to make a statement in freezing temps is a grabbing a bold, faux-fur coat. You won't even have to worry about what you're wearing underneath.
Shrimps Plum Coat in Bottle Green $795 $597, available at Moda Operandi.

The Black Bell-Bottoms
Since skirts aren't really an option at this time of year (though we have seen some bold people wearing them anyway), add volume and movement with some killer bell-bottoms.
Pixie Market Black Bell-bottom Pants, $85, available at Lyst.

The Teddy Coat
If real or faux fur isn't really your thing, try an equally textured (and cozy!) teddy coat in a neutral hue for a go-to piece of outerwear that can be dressed up or down.
ASOS Paisie Fluffy Teddy Bear Coat $215 $144, available at ASOS.

The Sheer Statement Sock
Don't even think about going bare-ankled when the temperature outside is in the single digits. Simply slip into a sheer pair of socks that allow you to wear your favorite sandals, heels, and cropped pants all year round.
Hansel From Basel Large Polka Dot Crew, $18 $12.99, available at Need Supply.

The Grandma Heel
Running around in stilettos just isn't realistic, so our favorite shoe trend, the grandma heel, is our lifesaver. Stand out by grabbing a super eye-catching color, of course.
Maryam Nassir Zadeh Roberta Suede Pumps, $514.39, available at Farfetch.
