Accessory trends are a changin'. That's the long and short of it. While we've seen a lot of the same pieces trend over the past year (i.e. chokers and mini bags), this season, designers are starting to push the limits a little farther. As a result, the jewelry, shoes, and bags coming down the runway are bigger, bolder, crazier, and weirder. In our minds, the weirder, the better.
Whether it's Crocs (yes, you read that right), vibrant-colored snakeskin, or giant purses worn as "wristlets," the items ahead are the best accessories we've seen come out of Fashion Month. Click on for a solid dose of creativity, and let us know below: Which will you try in the months to come?

The New Wristlet
Okay, so maybe they're not technically wristlets (like the ones you carried in 2004), but bags of all shapes and sizes are being worn as such on the runways. Chances are, our purses will hang from our wrists come next spring, too. Here's hoping they're not too heavy.

Striped Bags
Think boring striped bags couldn't feel new? One look at the options sauntering down the runway this season might just change your mind.

"Where Are You Headed?" Carryalls
You know when you head to the office with your luggage on the Friday of a long weekend, and you're greeted with countless "Ooh, where are you headed?" Well, the huge carryalls we saw on plenty of runways will beckon the same question, even if the answer is "nowhere."

Barely There Bags
It's rough when you have to play Tetris in your bag in order make room for your essentials. At least with this trend, nobody is pretending you'll be able to fit anything inside, save for a business card. Think of these teensy options as more of an ornament to complement your outfit.

Shoes
Sheer Tights and Strappy Sandals
First, it was socks and sandals (which, by the way, was also all over the runways this season). Now, the taboo sheer sock, or sheer tight, with open-toed shoes has been marked a-okay by industry standards.

Quirky Flatforms
Brands were not shy when it came to designing flats this season. Whether by way of crazy prints, embellishments, or all of the above, shoes — and flatforms in particular — got very kooky.

Head-To-Toe Monochrome
This trend is more about the styling than anything else. Countless runways showed shoes, pants, and even socks all corresponding in one singular hue, encouraging showgoers to not stray away from all-monochromatic everything.

Branded Steppers
Plastering a brand's name all over T-shirts, sweatshirts, and even dresses has been happening for a minute. But, this season, plenty of labels utilized their shoes to show off just who made them.

Snakeskin Stompers
Each season, there's usually a callout to some type of animal print, whether its cheetah, leopard, or zebra. This season, snakeskin is showing up in both ready-to-wear and accessories, and we're very much here for it.

Embellished "Ugly" Shoes
The "ugly" shoe is guaranteed to bring forth strong emotions. For some people, they're "ugly" in a cool way; for others, they're just plain bad. Regardless, the runways this season have made it clear this trend is not going away. In fact, the footwear is just getting more intense (see: Crocs at Christopher Kane, Uggs at Preen). Take 'em or leave 'em, but they're coming whether you like it or not.

Socks + Boots
Last season was all about the sock boot. Now, socks and boots (whether separate or fused together) give you a new way to tackle the trend.

Panel Play
Spring heels and boots can be tricky. The weather is unpredictable, and your go-to boots you wore all fall and winter might look and feel a little too heavy. For spring, designers are lightening things up with colorful panels on both mules and boots alike.

Detached Sleeves
First, we saw off-the-shoulder tops, and shirts with shoulder cutouts grace the runways. Now, they're in stores everywhere. So, when detached sleeves waltzed down several catwalks this season, we couldn't help but call out the trend as the new way to show a little skin.

The Updated Corset
Wearing corsets and lacy bras on top of T-shirts and blouses has been a creative way to add some flair to our outfits for the past few seasons. Now, instead of straight-up lingerie as outerwear, we're seeing undergarment-inspired clothing that's bound to become an even more dynamic layering option.

Patterned Opaque Tights
Are they leggings? Are they tights? Either way, they're definitely on-trend. And while we most likely won't be wearing them over our shoes, we're definitely on-board with how it looks from afar.

Not-For-The-Beach Straw Hats
Get ready to swap your baseball caps for straw hats. If you haven't gotten into these summery toppers in the past, now's the time. Tons of designers, from Tome to Rosie Assoulin, are making the options more compact and and viable for everyday wear, not just for the beach.

Relaxed Corset Belts
Super wide and structured, these belts are a lot softer (and kinder!) than the bondage versions from seasons past. These give soft blouses, wide shirts, and oversized shirt dresses some shape, tightening up the large silhouettes so many brands are embracing.

Paintball Shades
Lightly colored lenses have been very on-trend lately, usually coming in aviator shapes. Now, runways are showing off tinted specs that are reminiscent of the half-goggle, half-glasses someone would wear to a shooting range.

Headbands
Simple headbands have been out of the game for a while now (sorry, Blair Waldorf). But, by the looks of this runway, they're back and better than ever. While most people think of stretchy headbands as keep-the-hair-out-of-my-eyes mechanisms they wore as kids, these pieces have returned as a downright chic accessory to style your locks (and look) with.

Death To The Choker
Just kidding! Chokers are still a very cool way to accessorize. But, if you're not into the Kendall Jenner/Gigi Hadid aesthetic, you can skip the tight neckpiece altogether and opt for a longer pendant necklace, instead. We're calling it now: These strands are about to have a resurgence.

Earrings became the new statement bag this season, growing longer than our haircuts.

Lanyards
The lanyard you used to think was lame just got cool again. Whether you’re holding a lighter, binoculars, or your work ID card, your most important essentials will never get lost again.

Gigantic Earrings
Similar to extra-long earrings, the fun, geometric earring of today is getting super-sized for tomorrow. Whether with jeans and a tee or cocktail attire, your lobes are about to do some heavy lifting. It looks pretty damn good, though.

Giant M edallions
While this also falls within the "death to chokers" trend, there is a distinction. Tons of designers showed longer necklaces as a whole, but we also saw outrageously oversized medallions, which deserved their own callout. Reminder: The bigger, the better.
