Without baby pics, there's nothing for fans to do but speculate on the origin of the newborn's name. People has one theory — Luna's middle name, Simone, is an homage to singer Nina Simone.
The clues? First, there's the fact that little Luna Simone's dad is a big Nina Simone fan. Legend quoted Simone in his acceptance speech at the 2015 Academy Awards. He also spoke about her impact on him at the Sundance premiere of the documentaryWhat Happened, Miss Simone? He explained,“I find myself studying her versions of all kinds of songs, thinking about her words, thinking about her boldness, thinking about her commitment to justice. I’m truly humbled to be here tonight to honor her legacy.”
If Luna Simone is the namesake of the late singer, she has a lot to live up to.
